All social media including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube will be impacted by the amendment to the law on Internet crimes that comes into effect today. Passed by the Turkish parliament on 29 July, the amendment will force online

New law requiring social media companies to open an office in Turkey comes into force

Social media companies, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, will face bandwidth restriction up to 90 percent

Turkey’s new social media regulation went into effect on Oct. 1, bringing along a string of restrictions for social media companies, including the requirement to open offices in Turkey, and a halving of their bandwidth if they fail to comply.
