Science and Technology Scholars from Turkey met at Bilgi (@BilgiOfficial) #StsTurkey2022

I am proud to be part of the STS Turkey platform. This year, I, as Bilgi University, was the host of our annual conference. Thus, I was a bit more stressed than usual. Still, I now happily enjoy the post-conference rest. The conference program can be found here. Unfortunately, the whole program was in Turkish. We have hopes to make it international, but it depends on grants, of course. Our other annual event is the Winter School which takes place in early February. Around 20 grad students are chosen for the free introductory courses.

A few days in Morocco

I and Hakan, my brother, went on a trip to Morocco last week. This was our sixth bro trip.

In 4 days we visited Casablanca and Marrakesh. Despite receiving so many tourists, Morocco does not seem to be very tourist friendly. Despite the goodies, we rated as the most unimpressive trip we had. Still, if you are into arts and architecture and some exotic experiences, why not? Skip Casablanca and focus on Morocco and other cities- if you could survive the constant hustling…

While I was away, the Turkish republic celebrated its 99th anniversary

Istanbul municipality does not use fireworks anymore. It looks beautiful but is not good for the birds at least. However, the Ministry of Culture was at work on fireworks, and these are the images as citizens celebrated the anniversary. More and more citizens are aware of the benefits the secular Republic provide us.
