Earthquake Rattles Western Turkey and Greece, Leveling Buildings
An earthquake of magnitude of 6.6 shook Turkey’s Aegean coast on Oct. 30, Turkey’s Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) said.
An earthquake has struck in the Aegean Sea, flattening buildings in Greece and Turkey. Footage shows buildings reduced to rubble in the Manavkuyu neighbourhood of İzmir, a city on Turkey’s Aegean coast.

The seasonal drought in Turkey’s Black Sea region is a result of the irregular precipitation regime stemming from the climate crisis, which could increase the number of flash floods and landslides in the area, according to experts.
“We’re expecting more floods and landslides in our area because of climate change,” Artvin Çoruh University’s Prof. Aydın Tüfekçioğlu said.

To be fair, Turkey’s ambassador in France did it after a day but in observing the presidential “slam” rate, they were quite late in issuing condolence. They were more interested in talking about Islamophobia.
