The pictures taken by dentist Alper Altay from a boat in Bursa reveal the density of sea snot in the Marmara Sea. Altay says, “It was like the entire marina was covered in a concrete-like material. I was surprised. I didn’t think that mucilage was so dense.”
Main opposition CHP MP Yüceer has submitted a Parliamentary question about the pollution in the Ergene River in northwestern Turkey, underlining that it is one of the reasons behind the current sea snot problem in Marmara.
