There will be no progress in Turkey relations [with the European Union] as long as journalists are detained in Turkey, European Council President Jean-Claude Juncker said in the Bulgarian capital on Jan. 12.
It has been announced that Merkel and Schulz have come to an agreement in Germany where a government couldn’t be formed for over 100 days. There is the condition that “No new chapter will be opened with Turkey” in the draft.
Turkey will not accept a “privileged partnership” with the EU, the country’s EU Minister Ömer Çelik has said.

It was not Turks who attacked Russia’s bases: Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Jan. 11 that it was not Turks who attacked Russia’s bases in Syria this week, according to local media reports.
