Turkish Court Says YouTube Ban Is Unconstitutional

E. P., the owner of popular twitter user “Allah CC”, has been convicted to 15 months of prison for “overtly humiliating religious values accepted by a faction of the society”.

A Turkish Twitter user was sentenced to 15 months in prison on Thursday — for using a handle that was deemed religiously offensive.

Lobna Allami was protesting against the Turkish government in Gezi Park in central Istanbul in 2013 when she was hit on her head by a tear gas capsule. Following three operations, she is now learning to speak again.
